Memory of St. Nectarios of Pentapolis – A Joyful Celebration at Sts. Constantine and Helen, Kirigu
Yesterday, November 9th, the faithful gathered at Sts. Constantine and Helen Orthodox Church, Kirigu, to celebrate the Feast of St. Nectarios of Pentapolis, a day filled with grace, joy, and divine blessing.
His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Kenya and Exarch of All Africa presided over the Divine Liturgy, joined by the clergy and a vibrant congregation of believers who came together in faith and thanksgiving. The atmosphere was deeply spiritual, reflecting the saint’s legacy of holiness, humility, and healing.
During the service, two significant elevations took place:
-
Fr. Peter was elevated to the rank of Father Confessor, a sacred responsibility and blessing in his priestly journey.
-
Reader Mwangi, who has faithfully served the Church for many years, was elevated to the order of Subdeacon, marking a new step in his service to God.
The faithful rejoiced at these milestones, giving thanks to God for His abundant blessings and for the continued growth of the Orthodox Church in Kenya.
Indeed, Orthodoxy in Kenya is blossoming, touching more hearts and drawing many closer to the light of Christ. We remain grateful for the tireless leadership and missionary spirit of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, whose love and dedication continue to inspire the faithful across the nation.
Long live His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Kenya!
Glory be to God for all things!
